BIO
Steph Cleary is an acoustic cover musician based in Perth, Western Australia. (Steph also plays under the pseudonym Autumn Sage as an alternative indie folk singer songwriter. If you're looking for Autumn Sage please click here.) She is a versatile and talented vocalist and multi-instrumentalist whose passion for music is evident in every moment of her performances. Steph's versatility means that she can be found playing laid-back pop covers in a piano lounge, or with her guitar at a chilled-out Sunday session at a pub or restaurant or at a corporate gig, but then she can add her looping pedal and she becomes a one-woman band playing upbeat rock and pop songs at pubs or parties. Steph is capable of playing songs across many genres - from rock and pop to jazz and classical, and her repertoire is from many eras, with a focus on songs from the 80s up until today, but her real talent lies in taking songs and interpreting them in different ways to make them her own.
Steph grew up in Melbourne and from age two has been picking out tunes on the piano. She trained as a classical pianist, and started teaching herself guitar at age 7. After playing in rock and folk bands as a bass player, rhythm guitarist and singer, and singing at weddings, then starting out as a solo artist, she found the love of her life and moved to Perth.
Steph is now loving being a part of the Perth music scene, playing at Tradewinds Hotel and La Chiquita Café in Fremantle, Long Neck Brewery on the foreshore and Last Drop Elizabethan up in the hills, and when the weather is fine she has a regular spot at Finlay & Sons Café in Inglewood, and she can be found providing the musical entertainment at markets across Perth. She is available to play at pubs, cafes and restaurants, at parties and corporate functions, and at weddings and funerals.
